Starting to create/build my own WebSites, I had a long way
to go. I had no experience, knowledge, adviser, software or anything
like that (let’s call me a Newbie), who would have shown or helped
me, to make some real progress. I was ending up hundreds of hours
being enslaved at my computer. I tried many different things. Finally
I found the first decent tools, which I could use for my first startup.
From there on, I made - at least - some progress.
What did I find out:
DreamWeaver and ExpressionWeb were a bit too complicate for
me, in terms of first having to fully learn HTML. If you watch their
training videos, then you will realize, it takes a bit of time. First of all,
you have to become so efficient, that you could immediately transform
your own great ideas into fully functioning HTML codes. Otherwise
you cannot really get an advantage out of it. But ...

With Google, the real promotional action is the Adword Adverti-
about it - specially on how much money you have to spend for your
own adword campaigns. How many visitors does it take you, to sell
one product. Is it 5, 10 or 50 ? Many customers just click around,
playing with your website. Those keywords can get very expensive,
if you want to put your ad in front of everybody else.
So start biding low. Low as 0,10 $, 0.15 $ 0.25 $ and up.
Let’s say, every other week, you go up a certain amount, you can
afford. Do it, until you get every day around 50/80 visitors. And now
you can start optimizing, because you can observe, how many of
these visitors are buying one of your products. Your bid is still low,
so it does not cost you are fortune, to find out, what can be made
better. If you want, go up to 200 or 500 visitors a day, if it makes it
more easy for you, to evaluate it. Do that, but also learn from Google
about Keywords and Adwords, and how to use them.
Now you can try out different things. Change your images, change
some colors, change something in the text, or change the page display,
maybe change the product after a longer time testing it. Or make it
just more “yummy” to buy. But in the moment, you understand, how
many customers or “clicks” you need, to sell one product, then you
can figure out, how high you want to go/bid in adwords, to still get
your own profit together.
Let’s say Dell can pay for one click 5.- $, because it may take
20 people, to buy a Dell Computer (600 -2000.- $). So, there is still
some real good profit left. If your product gives you 30.- $ commis-
sion, and you would pay 5.- $ for one click, you would go bankrupt.
Please don’t give up, because I’m saying this.
But this is, why it is very important, to get all Google Standards
in on your website. Because as soon you go up the Ranking, you will

solution, to make lots of money. And I did not move at all.
Just, ... “Man, give it to me!”
The trick is, they tell you about their business and products, but not
about yours. It is your own spirit and your own creation, and interest,
and fun about, what you are creating and delivering. It’s like having your
own little Restaurant, where you take ownership and make it all nice,
homey and attractive. Give a little bit more spice into your soup, than
the other guy does it, who lives next to you.
And all the people knowing you, come back - like magic !
Where are now all these links and technical details ?
So get them all, but you are the creator and not your link. Find
the right products you want to sell, take on responsibility and ownership,
invent your own thing, and go from there. And this is, what Google and
your visitors want to see. In the moment, you understand that, you will
become a different person. And yes, it might be sometimes hard.

- What could visitors like about them ?
- Is it all boring, more informative - or is it an adventure !
- From the viewpoint of a visitor, what can you make better, to catch
their attention and create a real “need and want” for your product ?
- Reading your articles regularly over again, makes them even better.
- How is the overall impression of all, including reading your stuff ?
Important is your own interest and persistence, to learn to write

have to create. And then you will start feeling fun and also satisfaction.

Some people are very easy, creating something. They can draw

they can build incredible fantasy monsters with total ease. But I had
always to think too much about it. “How I gonna do that”, and how
I will continue, to get a real good looking, impressive whatever to-
to me. Soon I did start invalidating myself, and then I gave up.
Why couldn’t I do, what others did ?
Because I didn’t understand, that you cannot create something,
where you don’t know anything about it yet. Sometimes you have a real
bright idea about things from the beginning, what makes it pretty easy.
But you cannot always just wait for your next “bright idea”. You have
to get things going.
Here comes the trick !
You are sitting there, playing with your jaw and wondering.
Just take some initiative, and put the first piece on your paper, which
is coming to your mind. Whatever it is, it must not be incredible. You
could be even bored about it or think, that this isn’t good enough. But
continue playing with it, adding things, replace something, until you
feel, that you can now see, the way it goes. And then you get excited,
and new ideas start pouring into your brain.
You got yourself out of big troubles !
It’s the same with talking to people. Sometimes it seems to be
impossible, to say the right words to somebody (or just talk), but as
soon you start, it can become lots of fun and you feel really good.
A complete different scene, just within 5 minutes.
What additionally helps, is to look for ideas. You go to other web
sites and check, what they do. It can make “bang” within 3 seconds
and you know it exactly, even without copying from the other guy.
Another successful action is, to write or create something, at least
up to a good point, and then checking the next day (or some time later)
what you feel now about it. You may do some corrections, wherever
needed. But it will become very simple, as soon you found your way.
I’m checking continually on my pages and my articles. Sometimes the
“real fire” goes on, several weeks later.
A real masterpiece may take some time. But when it’s done, you
feel yourself superb and strong. And this is, what brings you lots
of fun.
